The office has the task of promoting the social, intellectual and cultural interests of students. Together with students, SG organizes lectures, discussions, concerts, exhibitions, excursions, theater and film performances and workshops for students. SG also has the task of strengthening the cultural role of the university in the city and the region, and of supporting and promoting student amateur art.
Where is ?
The majority of the SG activities take place at the following locations:
- The Blauwe Zaal in the Auditorium (lectures and debates)
- The Gaslab (theater performances, concerts, country evenings and workshops)
- The Zwarte Doos film hall (films and documentaries)
- Kunstuitleen, Auditorium -1.36 (art library for employees)
- occasionally also Kennispoort
Some programs take place in town such as the Science Café (book store Van Piere, Nieuwe Emmasingel 44)
The managing committee is responsible for the SG program policy. The committee members are prof.dr.ir. Yvonne de Kort (chairman), prof.dr.ir. Anthonie Meijers, ir. MBA Corinne Jongeneelen, prof.dr.ir. Jom Luiten, dr. Lucas Asselbergs (secretary) en Ilona den Hartog, Emma Munnig Schmidt, Jessica Vermeer, Karel Moeskops en Evelien Schumacher (student members).
