The 3 ECTS program in Academic Education is now a compulsory part of virtually all minors. You can gain these study points by choosing one of two options:

1. Attending a major series of university lectures (value 3 ECTS): Big Images, Big History, or The Eindhoven University Lectures. The latter series of lectures is given each year by a prominent guest lecturer. This year the lectures will be given by dr. Koert van Mensvoort  (Next Nature Foundation; Dep. of  Industrial Design, TU/e). Their theme is "Next Nature": Old nature, in the sense of trees, plants, animals, atoms, or climate, is getting increasingly controlled and governed by man. At the same time, our technological environment which used to be in control of man, tends to outgrow us and become autonomous: a "next" nature.
The Eindhoven University lectures will be in English.

2.  Attending a small series of university lectures (value 2 ECTS) together with a series of 14 Studium Generale lectures (value 1 ECTS).

You can sign up for the university lectures in Studyweb (OASE). STU will inform all 2nd and 3rd year students on this.

All students can start following 14 lectures from their first academic year.
Both varieties are equal in terms of effort and demands.

You’ll find the ECTS symbol in the Studium Generale program magazine and on this site next to each program qualifying for study points.

You can register your attendance by scanning your student card before the start of the program. Don't be late: scanning takes place prior to the start of the program. If you miss that moment, you won't have another chance to register your presence.

For any questions related to the Academic Education please contact dr. Tijn Borghuis / v.a.j.borghuis@tue.nl / IPO 1.11 / tel 247.5156

* You can only view this list when you are on the TU/e campus or using the VPN client.

If you cannot see your registration after two weeks, please contact Studium Generale. You should do this no more than one month after the lecture or workshop concerned.
After you have attended 14 lectures, your study point will automatically be credited at the end of the semester. You do not have to take any action yourself.
